Otto Guevara
Third Time For President
Otto Guevara will be heading to the polls
for the third time to the the country's
president following the confirmation by the
Movimiento Libertatio (ML) party on
Saturday, amidst applause, shouts and jokes,
at the event held at the San José Palacio.
Guevara will now face Otton Solis of the
Partido Accion Cuidadana (PAC), Rafael Angel
Calderon of the Partido Unidad Social
Cristiana (PUSC) and the favourite, Laura
Chinchilla of the Partido Liberacion
Nacional (PLN) in the February 2010
elections.
Guevara won out the nomination by 123 votes
in his favour, beating out Cecilio Ríos and
Antonio López Escarré.
Ríos got six votes, probably for his well
humoured jokes, while López failed to win
even one vote.
