On Honduras A Trap, Says Chavez
Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez
said on Friday that the proposal of US State
Secretary Hillary Clinton is a very serious
mistake and a trap for democracy.
In a press conference at Miraflores Palace,
Chavez also said that the coup against
Honduran President Manuel Zelaya on June 28
is a challenge to the US Administration of
Barack Obama.
How come the US is not taking any political
and economic sanction against the putschists
in the Central American country?" he
wondered.
The putschists in Honduras are trying to
wash their hands, but Zelaya fortunately
came out of the swamp quickly, added Chavez.
In his opinion, Costa Rican President Oscar
Arias wanted Zelaya and Micheletti to sit at
the same table.
Fortunately, Foreign Minister Patricia Rodas
did not stay in Costa Rica, said Chavez.
If Telesur did not exist, most of the world
would ignore part of the truth of what is
happening in Honduras, he said as he
congratulated Telesur journalists.
"Zelaya is going to enter Honduras, I don't
know if by land or by sea," he predicted and
stressed that we will not rest until we have
democracy back in Honduras. |
