US Must Change Policy, Warns Chavez
Caracas -  Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Sunday that the United States government must change its policy if it wants the South to extend a greeting hand.

In his Sunday column “Las lineas de Chavez,” the Bolivarian leader recalls President Barack Obama has just taken office “amid great expectations of a world that has said enough to so many aggressions by a declining empire.”

“In fact, the US government is the one that must change its policy.” If so, there would be open arms in the entire world, full of fraternity, Chavez added.

According to the Venezuelan leader, "the arms of this revolutionary soldier and those of millions of Venezuelans would be undoubtedly among those arms to be extended.” Chavez also mentioned a warning issued by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, who recently advocated for talking to Obama “before he is trapped by the machinery.”
