Colombian Police Nab
25 Drug Traffickers

police have captured 25
members of the Norte del
Valle cartel, led by
long-wanted drug dealer

"Don mario," authorities
said Sunday.
During the operation,
which started six months
ago, police destroyed at
least 20 clandestine
cocaine production
laboratories in
Antioquia, said General
Oscar Naranjo, the
director of Colombian
Police.
The search for more
members of the Norte del
Valle cartel will
continue, he added.
President Alvaro Uribe
has offered 3 billion
pesos (about 1.5 million
U.S. dollars) for
information leading to
the capture of Rendon
Herrera.
The Norte del Valle, or
North Valley Cartel, is
a drug cartel that
operates principally in
the north of Colombia's
Valle del Cauca
province.
The group rose to
prominence in the second
half of the 1990s, and
has become one of the
most powerful
organizations in drug
