Gasoline Price Drop
Tomorrow
The first drop in
gasoline prices this
year will occur tomorrow
when a litre of super
gasoline drops ¢72
colones, regular ¢66
colones and diesel ¢95
colones.
The drop was approved
was week by the
Autoridad Reguladora de
los Servicios Públicos (Aresep)
and published today in
the official government
publication, La Gaceta.
The prices at the pump
tomorrow will be ¢416
colones, down from ¢488,
for a litre of super;
¢408, down from ¢474,
for regular; and ¢427,
down from ¢522, for
diesel.
Av Gas, Jet A-1 fuel and
LPG gas will be
dropping.
However, don't get too
used to the lower
prices, as fuel prices
are expected to go up by
mid February if the
Aresep approves the most
recent price change
request by the state
refinery, Recope, which
is asking for an
increase of ¢16 colones
for a litre of super,
¢18 for regular and ¢3
for diesel.
The increase request is
based on international
prices for a barrel of
oil between 15 December
2008 and 8 January 2009.
