U.S. Recession Could
Lead To More Tech Firms
in Costa Rica
The adverse economic
conditions affecting the
United States could lead
to the arrival of a good
number of technology
firms in Costa Rica in
2009.
Such is the forecast of
by the Costa Rican
Development and
Investment Board (CINDE),
which believes such
firms could be looking
for a way to reduce
production costs — and
Costa Rica would be a
good destination to
achieve such a goal.
During 2008, high-tech
companies already
operating here invested
more than us$30 million
in new plants. Some of
those include Intel,
Baxter, Sykes, Western
Union, Hologic, and
Procter & Gamble. |
