 Cruise Liner Season Opens in Puntarenas With the Arrival of the Coral Princess
 The cruise liner season began in Puntarenas with the arrival of the Coral Princess with its 2.000 passengers. And so did the protest by local independent transport operators, who are asking guaranteed work.

The protest by a group of mini van operators was quickly disbanded when members of the Fuerza Pública (police) and Tránsito (traffic police) arrived on the scene.

The independent transport operators were protesting the decision by the cruise liner not to use transport services unless contracted by them.

The Coral Princess is the first of the expected 125 cruise liners to visit during the season, 75 of which will be docking at Puntarenas and the rest at Caldera.

The arrival of the cruise liner season is also a boom to local vendors who are ready for the tens of thousands of visitors coming off the ships.
