Three Tourists Die As
Guatemala Boat Sinks
Guatemala - At
least three tourists,
including a Malaysian
and a Frenchman, were
killed and three others
were missing following a
boat accident in Lake
Atitlan, west of
Guatemala City, reports
from Guatemala said
Sunday.
The nationalities of the
three people missing are
not known, the rescue
team said.
The boat, which was
overloaded, sank as it
made a turn in the lake
Saturday, officials
said. Strong wind is
believed to have caused
the accident.
Eight people were
rescued and the search
is still on to locate
those still missing.
As one of the main
tourist attractions in
Guatemala, Lake Atitlan
is visited by more than
500,000 foreign tourists
