Bolivia to Create
Regional Alternative
Media
COB (Bolivian Workers
Confederation) is
studying the creation of
a regional alternative
media space of their own
due to the limited space
working classes have in
local media.
COB President Pedro
Montes explained that
the objective is to have
an alternative space for
truthful news spreading
to confront distortion
of the news reported by
right-wing media, "which
disguise real news and
hide the reality of the
country".
Montes criticized the
noticeable distortion
that the union issue
goes through in private
media companies and
confessed his rejection
to the way they handle
information.
The leader announced he
will begin to promote
the idea in Huanuni
mining centre, where he
will analyze the
possibility of
developing "a means of
communication for the
peoples, destined for
the awareness,
strengthening and
direction of basic
organisms".
Finally, COB leader
urged state-owned
Channel 7 to grant a
greater space within
their daily programming
to the work of working
organisms, at crucial
moments for the nation. |
