An earthquake registering 4.1 on the Richter scale shook and rolled San José yesterday afternoon at 4:41pm.

The jolt was short and originating in the area of Puriscal (southwest of San José) and a depth of 6 kilometres.

According to the Red Sismológica de la Universidad de Costa Rica, the quake was also felt in Atenas, Cuidad Colón, Orotina and Parrita.

No damage or injuries were reported.
