Latin American Tourism
Development Predicted
The World Travel and
Tourism Council assured
Friday that the tourism
sector will grow in
Latin America over the
next 10 years, despite
global economic
difficulties.
WTTC published a report
Friday in which the
evaluations on tourist
landscapes as much as
culture in the Latin
American area, were
highlighted.
WTTC data said tourism
in Latin America will
generate revenues for
nearly 240 billion
dollars this year, with
a forecast to reach 340
billion in the following
decade.
Another aspect reflected
by the document is that
there will be a steady
increase in demand for
tourist trips to the
area in 2008, with a
growth of 5.4 percent.
WTTC was founded in
1990, groups more than
100 countries, with
headquarters in London,
England, and its current
president is Jean-Claude
Baumgarten (France). |
