New Building Soars in Panama Capital
Investments on construction of new buildings, expansions and repairs in the capital registered a growth a 25 percent in relation to the previous year, 2006, sources revealed.

Figures of the Panamanian Chamber of Construction indicate that private investments in capital neighborhoods from January to September 2007 rose to 882,897,628 dollars as against 653,289,031 dollars for the same period in 2006.

The same source indicated that these figures reveal a 25.96 percent increase from one year to the next.

Residential investments rose 21.11 percent, the commercial sector increased 45.61 percent and land movement grew 117.14 percent, added the Chamber of Construction.

The value of new buildings reached 76 million compared to 59 million in 2006, representing an increase of 29.58 percent.
