Latin American Real Estate Site Sees Upswing in Nicaraguan Home Investments
Nicaragua is becoming a much more popular location for North American real estate investors, according to Latin American Home Investment. The Web site, which assists those looking to retire, invest or relocate to Latin America, has seen a recent increase in the popularity of Nicaraguan properties.

The fact that this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition was photographed in Nicaragua may be a major factor in this trend.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is the magazine's most popular issue of the year, so when they chose to do the photo shoot in Nicaragua it meant a huge amount of exposure for the country.

Tourism in Nicaragua also remains strong, since there is an abundance of beautiful beaches, fertile lowlands and central highlands with wildlife and colonial history to enjoy. Another factor that has already contributed to the popularity of Nicaragua for North American investors is the relative ease of travel, with a short two-hour plane ride from Houston or Miami.

Purchasing a home in Nicaragua is much different here than in the United States or Canada. Buyers should be careful to understand the risks they are taking and never invest more than they can afford to lose.
