Nicaragua Advances Zero
Hunger Program
Nicaragua reported
Tuesday that its Zero
Hunger program this year
will double the number
of beneficiaries, 13,000
new families one year
after its enforcement by
the government of
President Daniel Ortega.
The Food Production
Program of the
Agriculture and Forestry
Ministry is designed to
help the poorest sectors
and integrate them into
production with supplies
that include cows,
birds, pigs and seeds.
Last year the program
assisted 8,000 families
out of a plan for 5,000
and exceeded the
program's budget for
this aid. |
