Chavez Debunks Venezuela
Opposition
CARACAS -The Venezuelan
government dismantled an
unsuccessful media
campaign carried out by
opposition sectors in a
bid to destroy the
Revolution in this South
American country.
President Hugo Chavez
said Wednesday a
telecommunications law
is not needed to govern
Venezuela, one of the
preferred versions by
the opposition this week
in the absence of
alternative programs for
the November elections.
Venezuelan opposition
groups are preparing a
plan B in a desperate
situation for the
November 23 polls,
Chavez told a radio and
television station.
"Right opposition groups
are everywhere, we don’t
have to underestimate
them. We face the Yankee
power, and the United
States uses pawns
throughout the world,"
the statesman noted.
"They try to turn
Venezuela into a
subordinated country,"
Chavez recalled when
summarizing efforts to
recover from the coup
d'etat that removed him
from power for almost 48
hours in April 2002.
The South American
statesman denied
versions that the next
liquid fuel transport
law includes the
expropriation of service
stations, as private
media have alleged. |
