Central Bank Says Dollar
Won't Keep Falling
The president of the
Banco Central de Costa
Rica (BCCR), Francisco
de Paula Gutiérrez, says
he sees indicators that
the price of the U.S.
dollar will not keep
falling.
Gutiérrez says the signs
are: less speculative
capital, increased
exports and major
purchases of dollars by
Recope.
"I get the impression,
at least from the
figures of the last
months, that pressures
on the appreciation of
the colon are not that
strong", said Gutiérrez.
