Honduras to Import
Venezuelan Fuel
Honduras will import
fuel from Venezuela with
credit facilities that
will allow the former to
make better use of
financial resources,
Presidency Minister Yani
Rosenthal pointed out on
Sunday.
He said that he would
meet with executives of
the company PETROCARBE
on Monday to speed up
negotiations.
Honduras will buy
Venezuelan fuel for 750
million dollars a year
for a two-year period.
Half of the fuel will be
paid with a credit
granted by the
government of President
Hugo Chavez.
Rosenthal noted the
kindness of PETROCARIBE
as a development
initiative that will
allow poor countries
like Honduras to have
access to fuel under
preferential conditions.
The project will
contribute to a more
efficient use of
monetary resources in
eminently social
actions, and will help
relieve the negative
impact of high oil
prices on the
international market.
Rosenthal will head a
Honduran delegation that
will travel to Caracas
over the next few days.
The delegation will also
include several
ministers and officials
from the Central Bank. |
