Good News and Bad
News For Residents of
Tibás
Residents of Tibás
received good news
yesterday as the
municipality said it
will be paving the main
roads of the five
districts, filling in
the potholes. However,
the bad news is that the
municipality only has
material and resources
for 75% of the potholes
and craters.
According to Jorge
Salas, mayor of the
Municipalidad de Tibás,
there just is enough
asphalt to fill in all
the potholes.
"We will be working on
the roads for the coming
40 days, in an attempt
to recover the roads of
the municipality that
have been abandoned for
years", said Salas.
The mayor said that the
Contraloría General de
la República (CGR) -
Comptroller's office -
authorized the ¢117
million colones contract
awarded to Conansa.
Tibás will be receiving
a donation of materials
from the Refinadora
Costarricense de
Petróleo (Recope) - the
state oil refinery and
distributor - to help
out the municipality,
according to Salas.
