Bush Tour Hollow in Latin America
Nicaraguan president, Daniel Ortega, assured that US president, George W. Bush, did not bring any concrete solution to the economic and social problems of Latin America during his tour of the region.

According to the Sandinista leader "(Bush) came to take his picture with Latin American presidents but brought nothing at all."

He could have brought the good news that the wall he ordered built along the Mexican border was being torn down and that those resources were used for Latin America.

Specifically in reference to Nicaragua, the president denounced that Washington has not fulfilled its commitment to 20 thousand families, victims of the war against the Sandinista Revolution financed by the Ronald Reagan administration, during the 80s.

He also recalled that the United States refuses payment of 17 billion dollars in compensation for the terrorist actions against his country decreed by The Hague International Court of Justice.

Ortega went on to add that the peoples of Latin America are no longer wooed by the songs of mermaids and total absence of concrete plans on the part of Bush, who supposedly has decided that he wants unity with them.

That is why our relations with Venezuela, Brazil, Bolivia, and Ecuador are stronger than ever because we decided to forge a unity of Latin American and Caribbean peoples, Ortega concluded.
