Dall’Anese Says Accusations Against Him Are Payback; Supreme Court To Study Case
The Corte Suprema de Justicia (Supreme Court) said it will study the case against the Fiscal General (chief prosecutor), Francisco Dall’Anese, being accused by his security detail for gross abuse of their time and services.

The members of the Servicio Policial de Intervención Inmediata (SPII) that is part of the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), have complained of late night partying, drunkenness by the Fiscal and have to put up with abuse of his children, while providing a security detail 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the same type of security given to the president.

The case against the Fiscal came to light when the head of the SPII, Minor Araya, complained of being forced out of the post for speaking out, all being made public in yesterday's edition of the Spanish language newspaper, DIARIO EXTRA.

The security details assures that they have had to wait for the Fiscal at all hours of the night, sometimes having to sleep outside, in their official vehicle, outside the house of the Fiscal and having to take home lady friends at all hour of the night.

And that the Fiscal's children would use the security detail as their private taxi and become belligerent when the detail was later in picking them up at the university.

The president of the Court, Alfonso Chaves, told the press yesterday that the case would go before the entire court on Monday. "I am one of 22 magistrates and I will inform them of all of this so that they can decide if there will be an investigation or not", said Chaves.

Chaves has asked all members of the SPII to come forward and not fear reprisals and will take anonymous complaints if necessary.

Chaves added that in the past the Court has sanctioned magistrates and other officials for irregular activities.

Dall’Anese, in a press conference, denies all the accusations and attributed the complaints to the discomfort of some officials and this is they way of getting back at him.

On public television, the Fiscal said he does not have a drinking problem and that his drinking habits in line with the drinking habits of the nation.

Dall’Anese, counterattacking, said that not all the members of the SPII are professionals, some lacking the manners and decency of their duties, claiming a case of brutality, though he would expand on the specifics.

For their part the agents of the security detail assure that the Fiscal, on many occasions, had too much to drink and had to be helped to get into the car and that he violated the security protocols placing his life and the life of the escorts in danger.
