New Law
Being Proposed For
National Symbols To Be
All Of Same Design
A new law would define
how the Costa Rican
national anthem should
be sung and the exact
colours to be used on
the flag.
Students in Costa Rican
schools are taught the
national anthem,
however, not all get it
right, hitting the notes
the way the creators had
intended.
And thus the proposal
for a new law that would
set it straight, giving
teachers the tool to
impart the lesson
correctly.
When it comes to the
flag, there is problem
of which shade of blue
is the correct one. The
Costa Rican flag is made
up of stripes of white,
red and blue. However,
different shades of blue
can be seen on different
flags as there is no
definitive shade that is
the official colour.
The proposal comes from
the Penasco Reales
family that is asking
legislators to create a
law that all national
emblems have the same
design.
Though the Penasco
family are of Colombian
origin, they say they
feel "tico" at heart.
The proposal is being
analyzed by the
Legislative Assembly and
has the support of
various legislators. |
