Traffic Accident in
Nicaragua Kills Six
Managua - At least six
people have been killed
and another 20 injured
when a bus they were
travelling in rolled
upside down in northern
Nicaragua, officials
said.
The accident occurred
Saturday night on the
highway between Quilali
and La Palanca, in
northeastern province of
Nueva Segovia bordering
Honduras, news reaching
here Monday said,
according to Spain's EFE
news agency.
Hospital sources in
Quilali told newspersons
six people were killed
at the accident site and
the injured were taken
to Alfonso Moncada
Hospital in Ocotal, the
capital of Nueva Segovia
province.
An Ocotal police
spokesman told that the
cause of the accident
had not yet been
determined and an
investigation was
underway.
Radio stations in
Managua, however,
reported that the bus
rolled over after its
brakes failed. |
