The Ministro de Turismo, Ricardo Benavides, said that the campaign is offer benefits to Costa Ricans to discover their country by offering special prices.

The first step in the campaign is to promote destinations that can be visited at reduced prices with special promotions and discounts offered by hotels and tour operators.

The promotional information will be contained in the ICT website www.visitcostarica.com where discounts on car rentals, hotels and tours will be made available.

The special pricing will only be available until the first week in November, said Benavides, when Costa Rica's tourism industry kicks into high gear.

Benavides added that discounts can be from 10% to 40% and higher, depending on the operator and the options chosen by the national tourist.
