Honduras for Support to
Stop Dengue
The Honduran Health
Secretariat ask the
Pan-American Health
Organization (PHO) for
help to stop dengue
epidemic, affirmed
health authorities
Saturday.
The classical dengue
cases in the country
reached to 15,282 this
week that means an
increase if compared to
the previous one of
13,867.
The cases of
haemorrhaged dengue, a
mortal variant of the
disease transmitted by
the mosquito Aedes
Aegypty, has also
increased reporting a
total of 774 compared to
last week with of 758.
The figure revealed the
government inefficiency
to face the disease that
has already killed 8
persons.
But according to El
Heraldo local newspaper
two other people died
this week in a private
center of assistance in
the capital.
For that reason the
Health Minister Jenny
Meza has met experts on
the issue, recognized
the chief of the
National Dengue Program
Lenin Quezada.
The mechanisms followed
against the illness,
like fumigation,
cleaning and campaigns
to raise the
population's
consciousness, deployed
by the authorities have
produced the expected
