Nicaragua to Send
Venezuela Beans and Beef
Nicaragua will start
exporting black beans
and beef to Venezuela,
as part of the
agreements signed for
the Bolivarian
Alternative for the
Americas (ALBA), a
Nicaraguan cooperative
sector source announced
on Thursday.
Moises Lopez, manager of
Nicaraocoop, told local
TV Channel 4 that in
September the first 28
containers with 20 tons
will be sent to
Venezuela.
The Nicaraocoop
representative said the
first shipment would go
to Venezuela with 1,000
tons of beef, and
Venezuela wants to
purchase up to 5,000
tons over the course of
the year.
He added that prices are
fair, based on the
principles of solidarity
fostered by ALBA.
