Group Falsified License Plates,
Licenses and Vehicle Documents
Agents from the Organismo de
Investigación Judicial (OIJ)
uncovered a network that had
used specialized equipment to
falsify license plates, drivers
licenses, using official MOPT
and Riteve paper to falsify
documents, including the RTV and
Marchano stickers.
Authorities found the equipment
in a warehouse owned by a man
identified only by last name,
Saprissa, located in Moravia.
Police say Saprissa is the
leader of the group.
Two others were also arrested,
alleged to be collaborators of
Saprissa.
The group offered all types of
documents, from the marchamo
registration that is issued by
the Instituto Nacional de
Seguros (INS), including the
sticker, the Riteve vehicular
inspection certificate,
including the sticker, license
plates and drivers licenses,
among the documents required to
legally circulate a vehicle.
Authorities also arrested
Vásquez Castillo,an official of
the Policía de Tránsito (traffic
police) who was also involved
with the group.
