Gas Hike Approved
Get ready to dig into your
wallet more this weekend as the
price of a litre of gasoline
will jump ¢40 colones.
The Autoridad Reguladora de los
Servicios Públicos (Aresep) -
regulating agency - today
approved the request by the
Refinadora Costarricense de
Petróleo (Recope), to raise the
price of regular gasoline from
the current ¢509 colones per
litre to ¢549 colones per litre.
The increase is expected to be
published in the official
government publication, La
Gaceta, on Friday and the price
at the pumps gets changed at
12:01am Saturday.
What the increase means is a
whopping ¢1.800 colones more to
fill a 45 litre gasoline tank.
