Higher Gasoline Prices By
Weekend
Get ready for a sharp pain to
the wallet as gasoline prices
make another spiraling upward
movement.
Last week the Autoridad
Reguladora de los Servicios
Públicos (Aresep) - regulator of
public prices and services -
approved a hike in the price of
super gasoline prices and
yesterday is approved a hike for
the price of regular gasoline.
The super price hike approval is
expected to be published in the
official government publication,
La Gaceta, tomorrow or Thursday,
which means the price at the
pumps are changed as of 12:01am
following the day of
publication. The price of
regular is expected to be
published on Friday, meaning
that price will change at the
12:01am Saturday.
The effect is that gasoline
prices will jump ¢16 colones by
the end of the week, just in
time for the long weekend.
The current price of a litre of
super gasoline is ¢517, jumping
to ¢533; and, the price of a
litre of regular gasoline is now
¢493, jumping to ¢509.
