New Zealand Looks to Costa Rica
For ICT Workers
New Zealand is having to employ
Information and Communications
Technology (ICT) professionals
from Costa Rica to fill local
voids.
Computer Science lecturer at
Otago University Simon McCallum
says the supply of ICT graduates
is failing to meet increasing
demand.
He says news that Peter Jackson
has signed a deal to create
digital games for Xbox, will
likely highlight the shortage of
skilled workers in the industry.
However, he says he hopes it
will encourage more people into
the industry.
