President Arias Headed North To Attract Investment And Speak of Peace
President Oscar Arias will be in the United States on two occasion this month, between the 13th and 21st, in search of foreign investment and guest of honour at a meeting offellow Nobel winners.

President Arias will be in the United States to attract investment to Costa Rica and to promote leave between the two countries."

During his first visit, Arias will attend the Conferencia de las Américas which is being hosted by the Miami Herald. President Arias will be back on the 14th and 15th to attend to the Independence Day celebration that will be going on around the country.

Following the patriotic celebrations, Arias will then be back in the United States beginning on the 16th where he will be attending, as the guest of honour, "Peace Jam", which is a meeting of Nobel Prize winners in Denver, Colorado. The Peace Jam is being held on September 16th to the 18th.

After that, Arias will head to New York for a meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Arias is scheduled to address the UN on Septermber 19 and during his stay in the Big Apple, will meet with various president and foreign ministers, including UN secretary general, Koffi Anan.

Arias' speech to the UN will focus on the gap between industrialized nations and developing ones and will touch on globalization and Latin America's participation and the need to disarmament. Arias will be speaker number 13 for the day.
