Taiwan to Donate us$2 Million
Dollars to Costa Rica
The government of Taiwan will
donate us$2 million dollars to
improve Costa Rica's police
equipment, the country's Foreign
Ministry said Friday.
Taiwanese Ambassador Wu Tzu-dan
will make the donation to the
Costa Rican Ministerio de
Seguridad Pública on Tuesday.
The funds are to be used for
transportation improvements,
among other issues.
Taiwan has had close ties with
Costa Rica, which has no
diplomatic relations with China.
However, the current government
under President Oscar Arias is
working towards a commercial
rapprochement with Beijing.
