Mrs. Bush to Lead U.S.
Delegation to Inauguration
U.S. President George W. Bush
has designated his wife, Laura
Bush, to lead the U.S.
delegation to San José, Costa
Rica, to attend the inauguration
of President Oscar Arias Sanchez
on May 8, the White House said
in a statement on Tuesday.
Mark Langdale, U.S. ambassador
to Costa Rica, will also be a
member of the delegation, the
statement said.
Arias, who won the Nobel Peace
Prize in 1987, defeated his
center-left rival Otton Solis in
elections in January.
Arias will succeed outgoing
President Abel Pacheco
