25% of
Mango Production Lost
The climatological conditions
during the first three months of
the year, with wind and rain in
January and February, have
caused the premature dropping of
fruit in the cultivation of
mango.
At the same time, the rain has
disturbed the dry period, which
is important in the cultivation
of mango.
The production losses therefore
amounted up to 40% in the
regions which were hurt the
most. Because of the weather,
problems with Antracnosis,
mildew and fruit fly
infestations have also
increased.
