La Negrita Mass To Be Broadcast
Live On the Internet
For Costa Ricans who live
outside the country, this year
they can see the "La Negrita"
mass on August 2 by way of the
internet.
The Instituto Costarricense de
Electricidad (ICE) will make the
mass available to the faithful.
The entire religious ceremony
will be broadcast live on its
website www.grupoice.com.
The details have yet to be
worked out, but officials of the
Basilica de los Ángeles are in
conversations with officials of
ICE to define the details of the
broadcast and also include the "romeria"
- the walk to the basilica.
The tradition of the La Negrita
has already begun. The tradition
ends with the walk to Cartago on
August 1 and the mass on August
2.
