National Program for the Elder
Adult, Doctor Enrique Vega said.
Vega added that these
outstanding indicators place the
Island at the level of developed

political will that gives
priority to human development.
He said that the main challenge
to be faced by Cuban society in
this current century is to
achieve satisfactory longevity,
and steps are being taken to
extend life expectancy to 80
