Solís Confident of A Vote Overturn
On the other side of the presidential race, Ottón Solís of the Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC), assures that he is confident to reverse the vote results by the Supremo de Elecciones (TSE) after completing the manual count yesterday afternoon.

Though Solís placed 18.371 votes behind Oscar Arias, the PAC has a number of complaints that led to an appeal of the vote count and charges of inconsistencies with the manual count and that some 5.000 votes have gone missing.

Solís made the charges on national television on Monday night and were reiterated last night after the TSE announced the end of the count.

While the Oscar Arias camp was celebrating, the tone at the Solís camp was somber. Flanked by vice-presidential candidate Epsy Campbell and his wife Shirley Sánechez, Solís told reporters that he is sure that the difference in the vote results will be overturned once the TSE completely deals with the appeals made and scrutinizes the votes in contention.

"We want the country to remain calm while the Tribunal does all it can to realize the scrutiny and guarantees the purity of the vote", Solís said.

Solís added that he will wait and respect the decision of the TSE.

Yesterday at the central offices of the PAC in San Pedro de Montes de Oca, the air was calm and little cold, contrast to the mod across town in Rohrmoser at the house of Oscar Arias.
