Gasoline Prices Go Up Tomorrow
and Not Next Week
Yesterday we reported that
gasoline prices would go up
early next week following the
approval of the increase by the
Autoridad Reguladora de
Servicios Públicos (ARESEP) and
waiting publication in the
official government newspaper,
La Gaceta.
However, the increase was
published today instead of next
week, meaning the prices at the
pump change tonight at the
stroke of midnight.
The price for a litre of super
gasoline will jump from the
current ¢457 to ¢488 colones,
regular will jump from ¢436 to
¢466 colones a litre, and diesel
will go from ¢319 to ¢335
colones a litre.
The increase means it will cost
¢1.395 colones more to fill a 45
litre tank of gasoline with
super.
