10.000 Residents of Limón Still Without Drinking Water
Following the fire at the Quimicos Holland chemical plant last Wednesday in Moín, 10.000 residents of Limón are still witout drinking water.

The Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AyA) - water and sewer utility - is concerned of contamination of the potable water in the area and is workin on solving the drinking water problem in the areas of Moín and Nuevo Pueblo.

Thousands of residents are getting their drinking water from tanker trucks that the AyA is using to supply fresh water to the affected areas. The AyA is not saying when the fresh water tap will be back to normal.

Fire investigators have yet to make an official report on the cause of the fire, focusing their investigation in the theory that a chemical leak from a tanker truck was ignited by a spark from a nearby welding crew. Officials are quick to point out that is only a theory.

Meanwhile, two the five injured in the fire are still in hospital in critical condition.

According to Dr. Manrique Soto Pacheco of the intensive care unit at the Hospital San Juan de Dios, in San José, Albert Solano Sánchez continues to be in critical condition but getting better, his pulse in good condition and his blood pressure normal.

However, Greivin Cortés Quirós, is not doing so well. Cortés was taken to hospital with burns to 95% of his body and is being kept alive on an artificial respirator.
