Fuerza Pública Make Good On Promise
To Sexual Abusers
The Fuerza Pública is keeping
it's promise to intensify their
campaign in their search for
tweunty of the most wanted
sexual abusers in the country.
And with aim, they now have
three of the twenty in their
possession.
The announcement on the campaign
comes following the arrest of 53
year old Victor Vargas, who in
1996 had been convicted and
sentenced to 16 years in jail
for child abuse but was still at
large and working as a teacher
at the Liceo Alfaro Ruiz, in
Zarcero.
Before month's end, officials of
the Dirección de Investigaciones
Especializadas (DIE) expect to
have all twenty behind bars.
Following the Vargas arrest
earlier this week, yesterday
morning DIE agents arrested
William Barrantes, a man
convicted to eight years in
prison for the sexual abuse of
minors. And yesterday afternoon,
they took in Raúl Rivera, a
Cartago farmer sought by police
for sexual abuses.
Police officials say that they
just beginning their man hunt
and don't want to offer any
details and photos of their
targets in fear of tipping them
off, making their find more
difficult.
