Cuban Rum Sales Up in World
Market
Backed by its quality and
excellent raw materials used
during the distillation and
aging processes, Cuban rums are
gaining ground in the world
market where sales of Havana
Club spirits are growing.
According to statistics, sales
of Havana Club rums increased by
23 percent during the third
quarter of the year.
The French company Pernod Ricard,
one of the world´s largest
beverage distributors,
commercializes the Havana Club
rums in the international
market. The group and its Cuban
partner set up Havana Club
International, a joint venture
for marketing the Cuban spirits.
Moreover, Pernod Ricard reported
a 2.3 percent increase in
turnovers, to 1.5 billion
dollars.
In that regard, Havana Club was
the brand that posted the best
results among the group´s
historic brands, which also
include Chivas Regal, Martell
and Jameson.
By regions, the consortium´s
total businesses increased 14
percent in France, 45.6 percent
in the rest of Europe and 105
percent in the Americas.
