Cuba Will Continue to Fight Terrorism, Fidel Castro
President Fidel Castro stressed that Cuba can take care of domestic affairs, improve people´s living standard and still fight terrorism.

Closing a special televised appearance during which he analyzed what the country is doing to upgrade the power system, the Cuban statesman stressed that this and other tasks will not prevent the Island from demanding that Luis Posada Carriles is brought to justice.

He said that the same issue will be analyzed Friday at a round table discussion that will be held at Havana´s Karl Marx Theater, Cuba´s largest, adding that in the next few weeks and months "we will have important events".

Openly referring to the Cuban-born terrorists who have taken shelter in the United States and to that country´s rulers, Fidel Castro warned them "not to build their hopes up, not to believe that things will come to pass, they should get ready".

For over one and a half month, Fidel Castro has been condemning Washington´s stance regarding the notorious terrorist, who entered the United States illegally and was arrested recently and sent to a detention center in El Paso, Texas, awaiting an immigration hearing.

However, according to US authorities, they only plan to review the migration status of the tenebrous criminal, ignoring his notorious role in acts of terror against Cuba and other countries.

Posada Carriles is accused of blowing up a Cuban commercial airliner that slayed all 73 people on board, and of a wave of sabotages on Cuban hotels, in one of which the young Italian tourist Fabio di Celmo was killed.

At the conclusion of his speech and in allusion to the proved links between Posada Carriles and other terrorists with the US government, Fidel Castro said that Cuba will push ahead her "battle against the bandits and the empire."
