Argentina Welcomes Che Guevara´s
Son and Daughter
Aleida Guevara March, daughter
of heroic guerilla Ernesto Che
Guevara, referred with deep
emotion to her meeting in this
country with Hebe de Bonafini,
president of the Mothers of the
Plaza de Mayo organization.
"When you talk to her you
realize there is still much to
be done in life," said Aleida,
pediatrician and restless
defender of the work of the
Cuban Revolution.
During her brief stay here, she
spoke at the Buenos Aires Union
of Press Workers´ auditorium,
commenting on the current
mobilization of the Cuban people
against terrorism and for
justice. She also gave detailed
information on the five Cubans
unfairly imprisoned in the US
for fighting terrorism,
denouncing the US press silence
over the case.
In Rosario, her father´s
birthplace, officials from the
city council told her about a
local government project for the
opening of a museum or social
club honoring Ernesto Che
Guevara.
Her visit to Argentina coincided
with one by her brother Camilo
Guevara March, who is in
Altagracia city, Mendoza
province, looking for
information for the archives of
Cuba´s Che Guevara Studies
Center, headed by his mother
Aleida March.
Aleida Guevara left today for
Australia, where she will
present the book "Chavez, un
hombre que anda por ahi"
(Chavez, a Man who is out
somewhere), an interview she
made to the Venezuelan leader.
