The opposition in Venezuela is preparing
violent student street actions after the failure of previous plans
organized by old parties, VEA newspaper denounced Monday.
The journal accused the Venezuelan opposition of trying to devise a
violent atmosphere in a campaign against the Minister of Higher
Education.
The paper reports slanderous propaganda has been circulating in private
universities and Catholic colleges "to twist naďve and confused minds."
The source includes rumors such as the elimination of custody, programs
of political indoctrination in schools and the violation of
universities´ autonomies.
VEA warns that the opposition is trying to use the children of wealthy
families as cannon fodder for their own interest.
Education Minister Aristóbulo Istúriz considered that the opposition
campaign is trying to hide advances of the government of President Hugo
Chávez with the educational system.
