Colombia extradites drugpushers to US, Spain
Colombia has authorized the extradition of
two drugpushers to the United States and another to Spain, local media
reported Friday, q uoting the Interior Ministry.
Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and Interior and Justice Minister Sabas
Pretelt have approved the extradition of Luis Montes and Arturo Tavera
to the United States, and Jose Botero to Spain.
Since Uribe took office in August 2002, Bogota has extradited over 260
Colombians, mostly to the United States.
Among those extradited to the US were brothers Miguel and Gilberto
Rodriguez, heads of the Cali cartel, and Ricardo Palmera and Omaira
Rojas, top leaders of the country's largest rebel group, the
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
