Spanish Communists condemn US Policy against Cuba
Spanish communists condemned today strongly the aggressive United States policy against Cuba and demanded that their government and the European Union (EU) do not give in to Washington dictates.

Gathered in Madrid for the 17th Congress of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) that concludes today, over 700 national delegates adopted by unanimous vote a resolution of solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.

The text demands the Spanish government and the EU to abandon their submissiveness to the US and establish relations of cooperation and exchange with Cuba based on fraternal links that should prevail between two sovereign and free countries.

They claimed also to demand the US to comply with international law and extradite terrorist Luis Posada Carriles to Venezuela in order that he is judged for his crimes against the Cuban and other peoples.

Attendants to the Congreso also demanded the lifting of the economic blockade on Cuba and the immediate release of the five Cuban heros unjustly incarcerated in the United States for fighting against terrorism.

A delegation of the Cuban Communist Party is attending the Congress of the PCE, they are Oscar Martinez Cordobes and Julio Alfonso, deputy head and oficial of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee, respectively.

Other resolutions in solidarity with other countries were also approved by the PCE and the new leadership of the Party will be announced today.
