Drug Ring Leader Arrested Here
A joint operation by Italian,
Spanish, and Costa Rican
law-enforcement agencies led to
the arrest here of the leader of
a drug smuggling operation,
Colombian businessman Milton
Molina, while ten of his
associates met the same fate in
Italy and another three in
Spain.
According to official
sources, the international
network is charged with
smuggling over half a ton of
cocaine into Italy. The drug was
disguised in containers carrying
tuna and, allegedly, Molina came
to Costa Rica in order to
arrange new shipments.
The
confiscated drug is valued at
$22 million in the European
market. Molina is to be
extradited to Italy, as soon as
the proper procedures are
completed, official sources said
