Costa Rican Coffee Gets Good Prices
The price of Costa Rican coffee in general remains at 15% to 25% above the average quote at the New York Stock Exchange, thanks to sales to a little under half of it to high-quality markets, according to the Costa Rican Coffee Institution (ICAFE).

As an example, ICAFE said that on a given day the average for all Costa Rican coffee had been us$140 per 100-lb. bag, while it closed at us$113.75 at the NYSE.

The sources added that the trend results from a better appreciation of quality by buyers, many of whose representatives have come to Costa Rica to learn about the true nature of the whole process.
