Whirlwind kills 1, damages 90 houses in Mexico
A whirlwind hit the city of Monterrey in the northern state of Nuevo Leon, leaving one dead, another injured and 90 houses damaged on Wednesday.

The strong winds and heavy rains mainly affected the region of Benito Juarez, some 30km from downtown Monterrey.

A 50-year-old woman in the region was drowned in an overflowing stream during the storm.

Another person was injured and 90 houses in the Los Naranjos neighborhood were damaged by flood and heavy winds.

The whirlwind was caused by Tropical Storm Cindy, which came from the Yucatan Peninsula and swept through the Gulf of Mexico.
