Ex-Peruvian president gets family visit in Chilean jail
Former Peruvian President AlbertoFujimori had received a visit from three of his four children in the Military Police School in Santiago, where he is being detained,the Chilean press reported Saturday.

Keiko, Hiro and Kenji Fujimori came to the jail and visited their father, along with Andres Reggiard, leader of the Change 90 coalition, which brought Fujimori to power in 1990, according to the reports.

Fujimori, who is awaiting court proceedings for extradition to Peru, will spend Christmas in jail, accompanied only by the prison staff, and all presents he receives will be thoroughly checked, prison officials told the press.

Fujimori, who fled Peru after his decade-long government collapsed five years ago, arrived here after years in exile in Japan to prepare for the 2006 presidential election scheduled for April in Peru. He was arrested by the Chilean police on Nov. 7.

Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo's cabinet approved on Friday 12 charges against Fujimori, a key step toward formally requesting the former president's extradition from Chile to stand trial.

The charges include the killing of 25 people in two death squad massacres, illegal phone tapping, diversion of state funds to the intelligence service and bribing of politicians.

Fujimori has denied all the accusations, saying they are part of efforts to sabotage his plans to again run for president.
