Most Dishonest Elections in Honduras
Hondura"s Civic Movement for Democracy (MCD) described the November 27 elections as the most rigged in the country"s recent democratic history.

According to the organization, the polls had an extremely negative impact on the participatory system in this Central American nation.

All three magistrates of the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) favored their political parties from their posts, the MCD said.

The movement uncovered several frauds, including illegal register of candidates and illegal appointments of representatives.

The change of results in reports faxed to the TSE data-gathering center was also cited among irregularities, according to director of the Honduran Federation of Private Development Organizations, Jose Leon Aguilar.

Several smaller parties sold their credentials to larger parties, Aguilar said without specifying.

The announcement of the victory of presidential candidate Manuel Zelaya might be made official next week, TSE said.

Information of about 640 polling stations is yet to be processed, the source added.
